Band 9 Sample Answer:
Dear Mr. Anderson,
I am writing with regard to your recent advertisement for piano lessons, which I came across in the local community magazine.
I am very interested in joining your classes and would like to ask for some additional information. Could you please let me know about the duration of each lesson and the overall course length? I would also appreciate it if you could tell me about your teaching method — whether it focuses on classical training, modern pieces, or a mix of both. Lastly, I would like to know if you offer lessons for adults who wish to learn purely as a hobby.
As for my background, I took piano lessons for two years during high school, and I am familiar with basic notation and simple compositions. However, it has been a few years since I last played, so I may need some revision at the beginner–intermediate level.
If it is convenient for you, I would be glad to meet in person this Saturday afternoon at the community centre to discuss the schedule and fees in detail. Please let me know if this time suits you.
I look forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Emma Collins
