Band 9 Sample Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my thoughts regarding the newly opened shopping centre in our town, which has quickly become a popular attraction among residents.

To begin with, the shopping centre has brought great convenience to our community. With a wide range of retail stores, supermarkets, and dining options under one roof, it has eliminated the need to travel long distances for basic necessities or leisure shopping. The modern infrastructure and ample parking space are also commendable, making it a pleasant experience for shoppers.

However, one issue that has arisen since its opening is the increase in traffic congestion in the surrounding area, especially during weekends. The local roads, which were not designed to handle such heavy flow, often get blocked, causing delays and frustration for daily commuters and emergency services alike.

I believe the problem could be addressed by coordinating with local authorities to improve road infrastructure. Introducing dedicated entry and exit points for the mall, along with traffic signals or roundabouts, could ease congestion. Additionally, encouraging the use of public transport by providing shuttle services may also help reduce the number of private vehicles.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my opinion. I hope my suggestions will be taken into account for the betterment of our community.

Yours faithfully,

Arjun Malhotra
